Fluid Painting Music Box Workshop - Listen to the whispers of this city

The sound of the city is like a soundtrack that has the power to transport us to different times and places. For example, the sound of the tram bell and the friction of the tracks can evoke the unique soundtrack of the bustling streets of Hong Kong Island. In the fluid painting music box workshop, participants created their own fluid art pieces and harmoniously integrated them with music boxes, evoking nostalgia and tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

Fluid painting is an abstract art form that uses liquid acrylic paint to create unique effects by pouring different colors of paint and allowing them to flow and blend together. In the workshop, participants analyzed their preferred colors and used different paint collisions to create their own unique art pieces. Even if they chose the same colors and methods, each piece would be unique because their emotions and inner worlds reflected in their creations. What do the sounds of vibrating notes remind you of?

Take Your Time to Listen and enjoy the simple things in life.

In the workshop, participants use plaster to make scented stone models, and the porous surface of the stones can absorb and release moisture according to the humidity of the environment. If you drop fragrance on the scented stones, the scent will be released along with the moisture, achieving the effect of spreading fragrance and creating more relaxation moments for everyone.

Neon Light Workshop - Create the luminous symbols of the city

Suspended over traffic, multi-coloured neon signs were once a luminous symbol of the city.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Hong Kong was filled with colorful neon lights, with different brands and shops using creatively designed and vibrant lights to attract customers. These unique street scenes created a vibrant and bustling city at night, with dazzling lights.

In the workshop, participants use EL-wire and creativity to twist and create their own mini neon lights, paying tribute to the prosperous and bustling scenes of Hong Kong. Traditional neon sign making requires heating the glass tube, but the EL-wire cold light used in the workshop mimics the effect of neon tubes, allowing participants to create patterns or text by twisting the wire. By marking on the drawing board and using EL-wire to weave through the board, the color of the substrate is different from that of the neon tube, allowing the neon light to show different styles during the day and at night.

Tonight, let us look up and be dazzled by the neon lightscape of our city.

Milk Tea Brewing Workshop - Savoring the Taste of Hong Kong

We believe that every community has its own unique flavor. In the milk tea brewing workshop, participants have the opportunity to learn the traditional method of brewing and create their own cup of Hong Kong-style milk tea.

Hong Kong-style milk tea culture has been deeply influenced by British culture, where afternoon tea is a cup of tea with milk. Hong Kong people have adapted it by combining Ceylon black tea with various tea leaves. Each type of tea leaf has its own color, fragrance, and taste, and different combinations and brewing times and temperatures will affect the taste of the milk tea, which created the unique flavor of Hong Kong-style milk tea.

In the workshop, participants have the opportunity to learn about the history of Hong Kong-style milk tea, the knowledge of Ceylon tea, and the traditional brewing techniques. They can use teapots, tea strainers, and tea bags to brew rich and smooth milk tea, which can be made anywhere in the world to replicate the taste of Hong Kong-style milk tea.
